Meet Jonathan Landry and the Kaizen Homes Team

While attending Appalachian State University, Jonathan Landry met his wife Abby Landry. They moved to Waynesville in 2008. Jonathan married into a family of Haywood County homebuilders going back four generations. He quickly earned a North Carolina General Contracting License. After six years of working with his father-in-law, Jim Lanning, under the JL Builders name, he started Kaizen Homes in 2018. Jonathan has become a Certified Graduate Builder and Certified Green Professional with the National Association of Home Builders. He’s managed more than 20 different construction projects across Western North Carolina ranging from renovations to complete custom homes.

While he most enjoys the technical aspects of home building like materials selection and finishing work, Jonathan understands that client and vendor communication is essential to any project. “When clients choose Kaizen, they’re placing a huge amount of trust in me. It’s a big responsibility, and I try to put everyone at ease with open and honest communication throughout the process”

When he’s not working on dream houses in the Asheville area, Jonathan loves mountain biking through our region’s tens of thousands of acres of national forest. To preserve these resources, he and Abby dedicate countless volunteer hours to the local trail advocacy group, Pisgah Area SORBA.
